What's Inside a Computer?

As part of the technology in science/technology/engineering/math, I am having the kindergarteners explore what they think is inside of a computer. We'll eventually get to the parts and maybe even look at some actual parts (if I can get my hands on some). In the meantime, I had them draw a picture of what they think is inside a computer. Here are some of the replies I've gotten so far (many of these are what prompted me to start this thing)...

"Heart necklaces, electricity, and TV characters." -Anastasia (who was very adamant about the heart necklaces)

"Important stuff, like texting somebody." -Caleb

"Circles, chicken, and Superwhy!" -Macieo

"Curious George...and batteries." -Dezmond

"A song...and math!" -Michael

"My dad would be in there, because he's always on the computer." -Caleb

"Some cords and a ghost. And a dollar? I couldn't draw the ghost though." -Nevaeh (really certain about the ghost and went on to explain why she couldn't draw it- "because you can't see them..duh")

"A Mario game and my friend DJ." -Kevin

"A book and toysrus.com" -Michael

"Game people and monsters! Also lava and snow." -Caden (he insisted on the last two)

"A TV and a person and paper." -Kristin

"Cars and scary movies. Spiderman? -Lawrence

"Games, math, and Dragonball Z." -Devon

"I think a rat, a cat, and a frog." -Kristin

"A rabbit, a mouse and...I think a little frog." -Destiney

"Video games and the sun." -Iyanna

"A fish!! Maybe food..and a laptop." -Deonne

"Electricity, games, some movies and some dancing street games." -Devin

In case you're wondering, most of them had answers like wires, cords, electricity, or a battery. But let's be honest, the right answer is never as funny.
